It is my pleasure to recommend Elizabeth Leuver as a candidate for the 2026 Rockstar Teacher award. I have had the opportunity to work with Ms. Leuver for the past six years as her team lead, mentor and instructional coach. In my roles I witnessed Ms. Leuver continuing to blossom and grow into a caring, compassionate and loving Kindergarten and 2nd grade teacher. She has excelled in her teaching strategies, communication and collaboration with other teachers in addition to leading our School Improvement Team.
Ms. Leuver creates a safe and caring environment for her students. She provides her students with opportunities of inclusiveness during her morning meetings and greetings allowing them to share and become a part of the classroom community. Ms Leuver has encountered students who have required social emotional support which she has provided with compassion, patience and understanding. Her students are aware and meet the classroom expectations to create a safe learning environment.
Ms. Leuver communicates with parents consistently and clearly through several outlets. She communicates daily through her student’s communication folders and ClassDojo. She communicates weekly with a classroom newsletter. During the time when it was necessary for us to be virtual, she was teaching virtually utilizing Google classroom and Google Meet to share her lessons and meet with her students.
As team lead and Beginning Teacher Coordinator and Instructional Coach, I witnessed Ms. Leuver collaborating with her colleagues to help with curriculum development and create innovative ways to implement concepts, skills and strategies to our students through different technologies. She has provided alternative ideas to assess student learning utilizing ESGI platform.
Ms. Leuver has made a huge impact with our School Improvement Team as the SIT lead. She has conducted surveys in various forms to receive feedback from teachers and staff to ensure needs are being met. She has also conducted data analysis meetings to help drive our instructional goals.
I believe Ms. Leuver is a strong candidate for the 2026 Rockstar Teacher award and am proud and blessed to have her as a team member, mentee, colleague and friend. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
