Finding the Right Communicator or Fundraiser by Gray III
Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM EDT
Category: Professional Development

Description: When your charter school is ready to hire a communicator or fundraiser, the task is a daunting one. You may ask: How do I wade through a tall stack of resumes that come from a job posting? How much should I offer candidates in salary and benefits? How do I get the selected person trained up and ready to help my charter school? NCAPCS member Jim Gray performs searches for these two jobs and has a sterling track record. A communicator and fundraiser himself, Jim knows how to find a great one for you who will boost your effective communications and fundraising. But first, he will lead the way for your doing the search and hire yourselves. If you decide to hire Jim or another recruiter, he will illuminate that path as well. Questions to be answered in the webinar are: How much do Jim and other recruiters charge? How do I set an attractive salary that we can afford? How do I assess his or her performance over time? Jim also answers these questions: How do I craft a useful employment agreement? How do deal with job sites such as Indeed and Zip Recruiters, and what do they charge?

Jim Gray has been a fundraiser and communicator for 40 years. Jobs include President of NC Wesleyan University; Associate Dean for UNC’s and Duke’s business schools; President/US of global PR agency leader MSL; fundraiser for United Negro College Fund; part-time fundraiser for multiple nonprofits such as Durham Nativity School and KIPP.
